Bespoke Timber frame for self build client

“Ten years ago Nick, our two children and I took over our new farm in Adisham and moved into our mobile home on site. We started setting up and developing our farm and after the arrival of our third child we started to think about building ourselves a farm house and family home on a part of our land.

Together with our architect we designed and planed our cottage style home and once planning permission was obtained started to look at its construction type. We looked at factory prefabricated buildings but Nick always felt that you didn’t get much for your money. We then came across the Turner Brothers working at the development at Hammill. Andy was delighted to show us round and said that he could produce a far superior timber framed structure erected directly on site.

Pricing budgets were produced & considered and the go ahead given just at the time that Nick was diagnosed with an aggressive cancer. Within weeks Nick passed away and I was left with a mountains of problems. During his illness Nick had insisted that we carried on with the build regardless of what happened.

From that tragic moment onwards Andy & Nigel took over the project. They carefully referred to me where and when they needed to establish what I wanted and interpreted and carried out my instruction precisely and without fuss. We quickly built up an excellent rapport and they easily gained my trust to carry out the build exactly as I wanted it.  Andy planned ahead so well that everything just kept falling into place & happening. He was always mindful of costs and managed to find savings wherever he was able. Both Nigel & Andy managed the build with great efficiency, with a keen eye on standards always keeping me informed of what was happening and when.

The end result is a home that I have watched grow, that I know is so well put together and which everyone who sees it falls in love with. It is a stunning building and exactly what I had foreseen.

I am so glad that we found the Turner Brothers and thank them on behalf of Nick and myself for all of their care and hard work. They have built me a fantastic home of which I know Nick would have approved and would have loved, as I do.
